Russian Sage

To create Timepiece, I placed a canvas horizontally under various plants in my parents' backyard - a Bougainvillea, Olive Tree, Lemon Tree, and Russian Sage. I then carefully and fluidly painted the shadows of leaves, branches, and flowers as they moved across the canvas as the sun passed over head. With these paintings, I meditate on the visual sphere that we perceive as static but which is constantly slipping away.
